Only disappointment was a limited time

Dear Mr Minamino

We are writing to thank you for your very valuable assiatance and advice in the preparations for our recent holiday in Japan. All of the accommodations selected were most pleasant, with our favourites being the Aso Plaza Hotel for the staff’s friendly service, and the Nikko Kanaya Hotel for its superb location and style.

All of the accomodation locations and travel arrangements were very well coordinated, particularly assisted by the use of the JR Rail Passes, which exceeded our expectations and delivered us many hours of enjoyment on all classes of JR trains travelling through the country areas, and also convenient travel in the cities.

We can thoroughly recommend any visitor to Japan, who has the time, to take the JR tourist train journey from Kumamoto via Hitoyoshi and Yoshimatsu to Kagoshima. This was a hightlight of our holiday, made all the more memorable by the JR train crew members conduct of this service.

We had considerable luck with only 2 days of rain during our stay, with 1 being in Nikko which was only light rain shrouding the temples and mountains in mist and only added to the solemnity and beauty of that place.

There were also 2 earthquakes (which we were aware of), the first a minor treamour in Sendai as we were moving from the railway station to the hotel (which was compensated for the next morning by a long shower of large, light snow flakes!) and the second whilst travelling on the Shinkansen into Tokyo (and only noticeable because the train stopped and an announcement was made)

Although we did not get to a live Sumo match, we did manage to see most of the final seriesof matches on TV, becoming firm fans of the sport and spectacle.

Our only disapointment in this holiday was that we had sucn a limited time, could not stay longer and had to leave before we had seen enough. Should the opportunity come again for us to return to Japan and see more of your beautiful country, we weould be most pleased and appreciate if you were also available to assist us.

Brilliant Planning

Hi Olivia,

This email is to first thank you sincerely for the brilliant planning you put into the trip. It went exceedingly well, even though the first two weeks were unusually wet. It didn’t stop us – it just meant a few more in-door things to find and do e:g museums which we might add, the Japanese do very well. And as expected, the flights on the first day left us tired. Hokkaido was quite cold and the weather really broke up about two days after we were back on Honshu. We considered ourselves lucky with that part of the trip.

Will write up comments on the hotels for you in coming days, but they all suited our purposes. Obviously they were of varying standard but their location and Staff helpfulness were really good. Will also provide some must do’s for some of your future customers.

And finally, yes! a little shudder on our last night in Tokyo was just a reminder as to where we were.

We will catch up in person soon, but as in previous years, your work and assistance with our trips has been of great comfort to us and greatly appreciated.

Experience of a Lifetime

The Japan trip was so fantastic! We all had such a wonderful time. The activities and restaurants were amazing and delightful, however, it was all made so much more memorable through the attention, care and respect given to us by our tour guide Mia. She was full of interesting information and really went out of her way to make sure we all had the experience of a lifetime (in such a short time!). We can highly recommend her to any group travellers.

Thank you also for all your work in coordinating the trip for us. It will be remembered fondly by us all.

Fantastic Ryokans, Shukubo and Minshuku

Dear Olivia,

Many thanks for arranging our Oct – Nov trip to Japan, we had a wonderful time and everything went smoothly. The accommodation was all good, particularly the ryokans, shukubo and minshuku, which were all fantastic. We cancelled the car hire in Nagasaki as my Japanese friends insisted on taking us to Unzen. They were convinced that it would be too difficult for us to drive ourselves, even if we had english GPS.

We’ve decided to change the JR passes we would like to order. We still want the 21 day JR Passes. However, we are looking at just getting 4 day JR East flexi passes for our time in Tokyo. But firstly we have to decide how many day trips out of Tokyo we want to do to decide if its worth getting 1 or 2 each. I’ll get back to you over the next couple of days.

Memorable Ryokans

Just a short note to let you know that Phil and I had a fantastic time in Japan. Everything went smoothly. The rail travel was easy, especially as the people were so friendly and helpful. All of the accommodation was great, and in convenient locations. The ryokans were especially memorable. The first one in Takayama took a bit of getting used to because it was so different- we made lots of mistakes with shoes and baths but no one seemed to mind too much and it was a great experience. The second one in Miyajima was absolutely beautiful – huge room and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! (I think they may have changed our booking to a western style room). The food was also wonderful wherever we went, but the meals in the ryokans were particularly good (although at times a bit confusing!)

Thanks again for organising the trip for us. We are hoping that we can get you to help us to organise another one very soon!

I would like to write to say how impressed I was with the service I received for JTB. Pre arranging my transfers to and from Narita made my travel very relaxed.

I was in time to catch the early bus from the airport giving me additional time in Tokyo. I was extra delighted with my transfer back to the airport. The taxi company picked me up from my hotel, arriving early, car was super clean and the drive was excellent. Please pass on my appreciation for a wonderful service all round.
